The mission of the Opaline Foundation is to develop initiatives that promote traditional agricultural know-how, local biodiversity and all crafts connected to nature. Through these local initiatives, our mission is to offer opportunititesfor the local community to cultivate a bond with nature and with those who work with is every day.
To achieve this, we created a first collaborative fruit farm, based on 4 main axes:
- Planting traditional and native variety of fruit trees in collaboration with Selecting and planting seeds on the fruit farm that allow birds and insects to feed and nest. And thus, contributing to the safeguard of biodiversity.
- Contributing to a fair revenue for the farmer who cares for the land for all of us, every day and in every weather.
- Offering a place of life and interaction for all. Organizing workshops on the farm for all generations to observe birds, bees, blooming flowers in spring or harvest fruits in the autumn. Or simply making it accessible for anyone to immerse in a moment of peace and quietness alone, with family or friends.
- Collaborating with the academic world to conduct social and environmental impact studies on the farm so it can serve as a pilot project for local and national green policies.
